Cominciano in questi giorni i primi Training Camp delle franchigie NBA. In Florida si respira un aria particolare intorno ai Miami Heat e, dopo lo show mediatico dei Tre Re, ora finalmente cominciano a mostrarsi anche i comprimari, che come la storia NBA ci ricorda, avranno un ruolo decisivo nei sogni di gloria della franchigia del south east.
Carlos Arroyo, reduce dai Mondiali di basket in Turchia (in cui ha rimediato anche una contusione alla coscia), si mostra motivatissimo nelle prime interviste al raduno pre-stagione di Fort Walton Beach e soprattutto manda un avvertimento a Mario Chalmers che tutti indicano al momento come il play titolare: “I’m going to bust my butt to have that starting role.” (lettaralmente: “mi giocherò il c**o per essere un titolare”).
Mike Miller invece risponde ai giornalisti che gli chiedevano della pressione che tutta la squadra avrà addosso per l’intera stagione: “Un sacco di persone ci considerano già i campioni, ma non abbiamo ancora fatto niente, e la strada per la vittoria è lunghissima. Non abbiamo ancora giocato tutti insieme, quindi non abbiamo ancora coscienza reale delle nostre effettive possibilità, ma se guardiamo alle migliori squadre del passato, siamo convinti non ci manchi niente” inoltre aggiunge a chi chiedeva dei sacrifici economici fatti dai giocatori per giocare tutti insieme: “Una parte di sacrificio è stata fatta ma il nostro sacrificio più grande deve essere ancora fatto.”
Zydrunas Ilgauskas, ha chi gli chiedeva commenti sulla sua ex squadra, ha risposto laconicamente: “Tutti saranno contro di noi ma useremo questa cosa come motivazione. Io la prendo come una sfida”.
