A Chicago si fanno sempre più insistenti le voci relative ad un interessamento da parte della dirigenza Bulls nei confronti del giovane spagnolo dei Portland TrailBlazers.
Fernandez la scorsa stagione non è riuscito ad entrare nei meccanismi dei Blazers e rispetto all’anno da Rookie ha giocato meno minuti. Proprio per questo Rudy ha espresso direttamente la voglia di abbandonare la città delle rose, cosa che gli è costata 25.000 dollari di multa. In quella intervista lo spagnolo sembrava propenso a ritornare nella sua terra natia ma l’ipotesi sembra remota perché,accadesse davvero questo, Portland non guadagnerebbe nulla dalla cessione dell’ex Juventude.

Molto probabilmente, dovesse concretizzarsi tutto ciò, il sacrificato sarebbe James Jonhson: il talento di Wake Forest, infatti, rispetto all’ala grande Gibson che spesso è partito titolare, non è ancora riuscito ad incidere nella Nba.
