Un nuovo appassionato NBA si è unito alla redazione e scriverà per questo sito durante la prossima stagione! Si tratta di Giulio Giannetti. Prima di iniziare a postare i miei power ranking vorrei fare alcune precisazioni. Questa ‘classifica’ è molto approssimativa dal momento che la regular season inizierà a fine ottobre, ma è stata realizzata al fine di dare informazioni utili su tutte le franchigie nba.
Infine i power ranking sono personali; alcuni saranno d’accordo e altri no. Se la pensate diversamente sarò ben lieto di conoscere il vostro parere. Per questo siete liberi di lasciare un commento a fondo articolo.
15- MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
La scorsa stagione per Minnesota è stata disastrosa (ultima ad ovest e penultimo record della NBA, dietro solo ai disastrosi Nets) e questa probabilmente sarà anche peggio.
I Wolves hanno ceduto il loro giocatore di maggiore talento, Al Jefferson, ed insieme a lui se ne sono andati il giovane ed interessante play Ramon Session, Ryan Gomes, Hollins ed le 2 ali Brian Cardinal e Nathan Jawai (sicuramente i 2 non verranno rimpianti). Al loro posto sono arivvati a Minneapolis giocatori di buon livello ma non in grado di far fare il salto di qualità ad una squadra di media bassa classifica ( Beasley; Ridnour; Webster; Tefair) .
Proprio nell’ala grande ex Miami e sul rookie Wesley Johnson confidano i tifosi di Minny, ma il secondo deve ancora dimostrare tutto il suo valore ed il primo, nonstante le sue grandi qualità , ha già dimostrato lacune caratteriali che secondo me non gli permetteranno di diventare un uomo franchigia.
14- LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS
I tifosi Clippers anche questa stagione saranno costretti a vedere i cugini giallo-viola lottare per l’anello mentre i loro beniamini giocheranno una stagione senza nessuna pretesa. I rosso-blu hanno perso 2 ottimi giocatori come Outlaw e Steve Blake, il quale ha accettato l’offerta dei Lakers, ed un buon uomo panchina come Drew Gooden.
Al loro posto son arrivati Randy Foye e Ryan Gomes. Ma i Clippers punteranno probabilmente tutto sull’asse Baron Davis e Blake Griffin coadiuvata da Erik Gordon e Cris Kaman e sul rookie Aminu, che però non giocherà ad inizio stagione per infortunio. Secondo me il quintetto Clippers non è da buttare (infortuni permettendo) ma la panchina non è abbastanza profonda per una squadra NBA.
13- GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
Golden State dopo anni di delusioni ha deciso di rinnovarsi completamente. Sono stati cedute le guardie Watson e Morrow , le ali Azubuike, Randolph e Maggette e il centro Ronny Turiaf. Sono arrivati rispettivamente al loro posto Charlie Bell e Jannero Pargo ( 2 guardie); Wright e Lee (rispettivamente ala piccola e ala grande) e come centro Gadzuric.
Osservando i giocatori acquistati e ceduti mi sembra che la squadra non si sia certo rafforzata, anzi. Bell (31) e soprattutto Pargo, non valgono Watson e Morrow, giovani dalle belle prospettive che a volte hanno trascinato da soli i Warriors con le loro prestazioni offensive; inoltre tra Gadzuric e Turiaf non c’è storia (hanno forse intenzione di far giocare molti minuti al rookie Ekpe Udoh come centro?).
Discorso a parte per Lee, lui è l’unico acquisto che mi entusiasma e sicuramente aiuterà la squadra con tanti punti e ribalzi. Le uniche speranze per Golden State sono l’ex New York, il sophomore Curry e Monta Ellis, che la scorsa stagione si è superato.
12- MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
L’ “acquisto” più importante di Memphis è stato riconfermare la star della squadra Rudy Gay, anche se 84 milioni di dollari in 5 anni forse sono un po’ esagerati.
La squadra non è cambiata quasi per niente: è stato ceduto Ronny Brewer che non ha praticamente mai giocato (8 presenze) a causa di un infortunio e sono arrivati Tony Allen, che se giocherà come nei Celtics sarà fondamentale dalla panchina, e Acie Law.
Memphis continua ad avere giovani di grande prospettiva nel proprio roster, su tutti Marc Gasol ed O.J. Mayo, ma ancora non si è risolto il problema playmaker e, senza, in una lega come la Nba, si fa davvero fatica.
Micheal Conley, giocatore che non mi ha mai impressionato, probabilmente sarà il play titolare e come sostituto avrà l’ex Bulls Law . Peccato davvero per questa grave mancanza perché Memphis è da anni una squadra sforna talenti, (tra tutti Pau Gasol) e sarebbe ora che questa franchigia diventasse grande.
11- SACRAMENTO KINGS
I californiani hanno elementi davvero interessanti in squadra. Tyreke Evans da quest’anno sarà l’uomo franchigia e anche se è solo un sophomore questa secondo me è una decisione giustissima; siamo di fronte ad un campione con la C maiuscola, d’altrode fare 20 punti conditi da 5 assist e 5 rimbalzi al primo anno non è da tutti.
Accanto a lui la sorpresa israeliana dello scorso anno: Omri Casspi. Quest’ultimo sarà affiancato dal centro proveniente da Philadelphia, Samuel Dalembert.
Passiamo però alle note dolenti. Vale lo stesso discorso che ho fatto per Memphis, manca un play. L’unico di ruolo è infatti il croato Udrih non certo un giocatore che lascia il segno nella lega americana. Un’ altra pecca è la cessione di Andres Nocioni. Ho sempre ammirato l’argentino quando giocava nei ‘miei’ Bulls e giocatori di quella grinta e di quella personalità se ne vedono pochi.
Messi da parte i (personali) sentimentalismi, sembra chiaro che i Kings sono una squadra giovane e nel caso coprissero meglio il delicato ruolo di play aggiungendo scintille dal rookie Cousins, dimostreranno completamente il loro valore. Saranno mai una squadra da playoff?
10-NEW ORLEANS HORNETS
Ho deciso di mettere questa squadra al 10 posto anche se avevo molti dubbi. La franchigia della Louisiana lotterà per l’ottavo posto insieme a Jazz e Rockets, ma secondo me partirà con un certo svantaggio rispetto a queste due squadre.
Prima cosa: Chris Paul! Le voci su un suo possibile addio sicuramente non faranno piacere ai tifosi e nemmeno alla squadra che potrebbe risentire mentalmente dei vari rumors di mercato. Inoltre la panchina non mi sembra solidissima. Come centro la scorsa stagione ha spesso giocato Aaron Gray, forse tecnicamente “limitato” per un vero ruolo nella lega.
Poi è stato ceduto Posey, uno che quando si alza dalla panchina fa malissimo agli avversari. L’arrivo di Trevor Ariza è comunque un gran colpo che rafforza la squadra. Più una scommessa invece l’acquisto dell’italiano Belinelli che non ha mai inciso molto in Nba; chissà, forse agli Hornets troverà la sua dimensione.
9- UTAH JAZZ
Niente. I Jazz anche quest’anno non hanno fatto l’acquisto che avrebbe trasformato la franchigia da squadra da playoff a contender. Anzi, la squadra si è indebolita. Sono andati a Chicago 2 giocatori fondamentali come Carlos Boozer (leader Jazz per punti segnati e per rimbalzi) e il migliore tiratore da 3 della scorsa stagione: Kyle Korver. Al loro posto sono arrivati rispettivamente Al Jefferson, giocatore giovane dalle grandi qualità ma non un all star come Carlos, e Raja Bell.
Comunque i giocatori per fare bene non mancano a Utah che resta una squadra che può lottare per l’ottavo posto o anche qualcosa di meglio soprattutto se l’asse Deron Williams e Al Jefferson funziona fin da subito.
